Solar panel cleaning that restores output.
Dust, pollen, fog film and bird droppings quietly cut how much power your array makes — and on the Peninsula nothing rinses them off between May and October. We clean panels with pure water and a soft brush, no harsh chemicals, and nobody standing on your glass.

Rooftop arrays across the Peninsula — cleaned from a water-fed pole, never by walking on the panels.
Your panels haven’t been rinsed since April.
The Bay Area gets almost no rain between May and October. For half the year nothing washes your array, so dust, pollen, road film and whatever the trees drop just accumulate layer on layer. By September most Peninsula panels are visibly hazy, and the owner has usually stopped noticing.
A light, even film costs you a few percent of output. The bigger losses come from anything that shades a single cell — a bird dropping, a patch of sap, a leaf wedged at the frame. Because cells are wired in series, one heavily shaded cell drags down the output of everything connected to it. That is why an array that looks "mostly fine" can still be underproducing noticeably.
The Peninsula adds its own problems. Heavy tree canopy in Burlingame, Hillsborough and Millbrae means leaf litter and sap. Birds nest in the gap between panel and roof and leave droppings across the glass. And on fog-side slopes, moss and algae creep onto the frames and onto the roof underneath the array, where nobody can see it until the panels come off.
Four services.
Obsessively executed.
How we do it: pure, filtered water and a soft brush on a water-fed pole, worked from the roof edge or a ladder. No detergents, which leave a residue that attracts the next layer of dirt. No pressure washer, which can force water past the panel seals. And we do not walk on panels — the glass flexes and microcracks that you cannot see still cost you output.

Gutter Cleaning
Gutters cleared by hand, every downspout flushed until it runs clear, and a look at the hardware for sagging, pulled spikes or separated seams. Book before the rains.
- Full debris removal
- Clogged downspouts cleared
- Damage inspection report
Before. After.
Most solar calls turn into roof calls. Here is the roof work that goes with it.
Solar panels — cleaned without scratching
Shingle roof — heavy moss lifted
On site — pole and soft brush
I have a house on the coast which, because of the dampness, grows moss on both the roof and the solar panels. Nick provided a comprehensive estimate, arrived on time with his team, and they were quick, thorough and cleaned up perfectly.
A simple, respectful process.

Solar panel cleaning across the Peninsula.
Solar questions we actually get.
How often should solar panels be cleaned in the Bay Area?
Once a year suits most Peninsula arrays, and the best time is the end of the dry season — September or October — so the panels go into the high-value winter months clean. Homes under heavy tree canopy, near birds, or on dusty roads usually want twice a year.
Will cleaning actually increase my output?
Usually yes, and how much depends entirely on how dirty the array is. A light, even dust film is worth a few percent. An array with bird droppings, sap or leaf debris can gain substantially more, because anything that shades even one cell drags down every cell wired with it. If your production has drifted down over the summer, soiling is the first thing to rule out.
Can you pressure wash solar panels?
No, and nobody should. High pressure can drive water past the seals around the panel edge and damage the anti-reflective coating on the glass. We use pure filtered water at low pressure with a soft brush, which is the method panel manufacturers generally call for.
Will cleaning damage my panels or affect the warranty?
Our method is non-abrasive, chemical-free and keeps weight off the panels entirely — we work from a water-fed pole rather than walking on the array, because standing on panels can cause microcracks you will never see but will pay for in output. Most manufacturers ask for exactly this: no abrasives, no harsh detergents, no high pressure. Check your own warranty documentation if you want to confirm the specifics for your panels.
Do you clean the roof under and around the array?
Yes, and it is one of the most common things we find. The shaded gap beneath panels is where moss and debris collect on the Peninsula, and it holds moisture against the roof. We clear what we can reach and tell you plainly what we found. See our roof cleaning page for the full service.
Do you clean solar panels in Burlingame, San Mateo and Hillsborough?
Yes. We are based in Burlingame and clean arrays across Millbrae, Hillsborough, San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City, Atherton, Menlo Park, Woodside, Palo Alto, Los Altos and Foster City, plus San Francisco.
